"Gemini and the Prairie Moon"

Hello reader. I'd like to leave you with some lyrics to a song I wrote at the tail end of 2023. The genesis of this one is not unlike any other creative work I've felt was worthy of sharing; loss happens paving the way for inspiration. My friend is gone, the most important star in my daughter's sky. May there be a reality where they can find each other in the same place and time again.

Maybe I can admit tonight

Baby I've been sad and blue

Star thistle and the river's banks

Sparkle in the prairie moon

Do you think I'll make the time

To tell you things so hard to hear

Thunderclouds and fireflies

Ohio summer is here

I'd give it all, I'd trade with you

You should be the whisper in her ear

Calm the seas and light the night

Take back the day you disappeared

Do I have the right to say, I'm afraid

Try to make it up to you

And guide you by the prairie moon

A star was added to the Gemini two

And your knees buckled when I told you the news

Maybe I can admit tonight

Baby I've been sad and blue

Star thistle and the river's banks

Gemini watching over you

Maybe I can find the strength

To give everything I have to you

I can hear your mother's name

Every time I picture you
